Metier Member Testimonials

As a collective, we believe in Community over Competition within the design industry. As a result, we have grown year-on-year into an established friendly and supportive peer network.

Take a peek below at what some well-known Interior Designers have to say about being a Metier Member.

I met Siobhan on Instagram and was immediately taken by her warm, friendly nature, extensive knowledge of the interior design industry and great sense of humour.

Joining Metier Rendevous was a no brainier. the community is very supportive, informed and enthusiastic with members ranging from beginners through to well-established studios. Having different skill and experience levels helped me get a broad and varied insight into the design industry.

I particularly like the brunch events. The format is excellent, beginning with an informative presentation from an industry guest speaker. This is followed by an opportunity to receive advice, suggestions and recommendations from the other members. All moderated and hosted by an extremely organised Siobhan.

I recommend Metier Rendezvous to Interior Designers who are looking for a community of like-minded professionals to help grow their business.

Metier Rendezvous is a friendly, supportive and inspiring group to be a part of.

I’m at the early stages of my interior design business and had a reluctance to ask questions at first, as I felt everyone was so much more experienced than me. But Siobhan’s ethos for MR, “community over competition” is a true reflection of the group. The designers are always willing to give advice, ideas and help and I feel really supported.

Professional and energetic Siobhan Casey is the mastermind behind Metier Rendezvous and has given independent like-minded Interior Designers a platform on which they are able to share information and discuss their challenges, and problem solve in a friendly non-competitive environment. I have found the meetings invaluable, inspirational, and the group hugely supportive.

They are always well organised with a guest speaker sharing the latest trends in Interior Design or business development.

It is a pleasure to be a Metier Rendezvous member.

I have been a member of Metier for the past two and a half years and it has been a very positive experience. Having worked alone for the previous decade I had created a successful business but was, at times, feeling isolated as a one-woman band and frustrated that I had no-one to turn to for industry-specific advice.

Becoming a part of Metier meant that I had immediate access to a huge network of knowledge and diverse experiences. There is always someone on hand who has ‘been there, done that ‘, and is happy to generously share their advice.

The breakfast meetings are a great way to get to know other members and Siobhan is a hugely welcoming and inclusive leader of these bi-monthly get-togethers. Between meetings, the online Metier community is very active in sharing sources, news, and ideas and in answering the all-important ‘cries for help’.

Ultimately, being a member of Metier has led to new friendships, a feeling of mutual support and helps to keep my passion for interior design invigorated.

I have been a Metier member for just over a year and it has been the best decision to join a group of designers with the same mindset of learning and sharing industry knowledge. The brunch meetings are one of my most looked forward to events always leaving me inspired and with a wealth of knowledge to implement in my business.

It’s a great community to be part of where you know you’ll always get the guidance and support needed be it at the meetings, over chat groups or even over just a quick phone chat.  I highly recommend this to anyone seeking a support network particularly small practices like myself where it can often get quite lonely working independently.

A lot of credit has to be given to Siobhan for being incredibly committed and running this group to everyone’s best interest.

Being a Metier Rendezvous member for a year, has certainly been a lifeline. Contrary to what I thought, being a competitive group with all like-minded interior designers, it has been anything but.  I have always come away feeling inspired and challenged.

With loads of advice, an open sharing of ideas, working through challenges we face in the industry, shrieking for help at a push of a button, help is always at hand. The group is a load of fun too and I have met lovely friends.

A great bonus is having different industry experts as guest speakers in the field of design and these have been very informative and relative. Siobhan has really run this group super efficiently and keeps the group energised and engaged. A fantastic leader.

Metier Rendezvous is a fantastic initiative within the interior design industry.  In a sector that can be closely guarded, Metier provides a welcome spirit of open dialogue and generous sharing of information between like-minded designers.

Along with the opportunity to regularly meet at brunch events, Siobhan has developed a number of initiatives, such as the Metier Slack group, that provides a platform to seek help, share supplier tips and creative inspiration.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Metier to those new to the industry or those who have been established for several years.

I’ve been a member of Metier Rendez-Vous for 5+ years.

I love our brunch meetings – a super supportive environment where you can share the highs and lows of running an interior design business with like-minded professionals.

The camaraderie amongst the members is unusual – and heartening – in what can feel like a pretty guarded industry. Sharing information openly is part of the ethos, so all members feel safe sharing their experience, no matter what stage of their career they are at.

I have been a member of Metier Rendezvous for several years. Siobhan Casey, the founder, recruited me, as she thought I would benefit from and be able to contribute to the Network. She was absolutely right!

Being a member has been invaluable in furthering my knowledge, skills and professional development as an interior designer. Siobhan has worked very hard to ensure that Metier Rendezvous is a non-competitive and collaborative forum for interior designers and other related professionals.

In my experience, all members follow this philosophy, providing the high standards of professionalism that I would expect from such a group of design entrepreneurs. Should I require Interior Design assistance, I would not hesitate to approach any of the Metier Rendezvous members for help.

Joining MR has been very helpful to the development of my design business.

I have learned about business management related topics at every meeting such as legal, financial and accounting and operational issues. Exchanging views with entrepreneurs of a similar size and reach is very useful.

We share experiences that we have with clients and trades, as well as design ideas and help each other with references for suppliers. Metier Rendezvous is a fun group of like-minded entrepreneurs and I am enjoying every meeting.

Moving to open a branch of my business in London was daunting and initially I was lost in hustle & bustle of the city and then I was introduce to Siobhan the founder of Metier Rendezvous.

Usually in business you only come across rivals and competitors but at Metier Rendezvous I learned the true meaning of being helpful to others in the same field. Over a year I have only learned one thing from Metier, that by sharing your knowledge and helping others puts you on a higher moral pedestal and opens up doors for learning & growth.

It was my first experience in the most competitive interior design market of the world and I am very proud to be a part of an organization which focuses and aims at supporting and helping each other. Bravo to Siobhan and members for being so friendly and supportive to each other.

Love MR…

MR is the first interior design group that I joined when I first moved to London. I love the camaraderie, the support of fellow interior designers, and how open and generous everyone is sharing their expertise and advice. And I made life long friends from being in MR.

It’s been such a joy to meet and network with other working interior designers at Metier Rendezvous events, so ably organised by Siobhan Casey.

Metier Rendezvous offers members regular breakfast meet-ups where design experts are invited to present latest innovations, techniques and products to members, as well as one-day workshops where designers are invited to add to their design skills and knowledge.

And, it’s fun! So happy I joined.

Metier Rendezvous is a dynamic, friendly and inspiring professional networking group of interior designers.

Interior design as an industry can sometime be unfriendly, snooty and closed-off. Metier disproves this with a friendly and open group of enthusiastic and expert interior designers who come together to share industry tips, exceptional suppliers, and develop their CPD.

As an Interior Designer and solo entrepreneur based in Switzerland, I was very happy to be invited to join Metier Rendezvous by Siobhan Casey, whom I met through KLC School of Design in London.

The atmosphere amongst the designers is very friendly and accommodating and both, Siobhan and the other members have been very helpful at all times.

It is great to bounce off some ideas with fellow interior designers sometimes and knowing that there is someone out there that can relate to the challenges we sometimes face.

Thank you, Siobhan and thank you MR 🙂

I’ve been a member of Metier Rendezvous since 2014. I have found it an inclusive, empowering and hugely beneficial experience.

Siobhan Casey who founded the group runs the meetings professionally and efficiently. The meetings always include an informative and relevant guest speaker but my favourite part of the meetings is when each member shares a challenge that they have in their business and we are all able to offer our own experiences up to help work out a solution.

This collaborative approach, recognising that there is enough work out there for everyone and that we all struggle with the same issues is hugely helpful to anyone who is experiences the isolation of setting up and running a small interior design practice.

Thank you Siobhan.

I have been a Metier member for almost two years and am delighted that I was introduced to Siobhan Casey who runs this Interior Design Group.

As a sole trader I tend to work in my own bubble and this group is invaluable in enabling me to meet other Designers in a friendly and non-competitive environment.

This is truly an informative and supportive group, which works due to the tireless efforts of Siobhan. She chairs each meeting ensuring everybody participates at a comfortable level, which keeps us all up to date with legislative changes, trends and general information, which develops both the group and individuals.

I would definitely recommend this network to both experienced and new designers alike.

The contacts I’ve made through the group, and the knowledge and experience that’s shared, have been invaluable and have inspired and helped me in my business.

The success of the group is down to Siobhan’s drive and commitment, the diverse range of guest speakers, and the generous and sharing attitudes of the members who support each other through the challenges of running an interior design business.
