The world we live in is increasingly fast-paced an The world we live in is increasingly fast-paced and as many fellow designers will identify with, I've often been under time pressure, feeling forced to rush aspects of the project or pushed to delivering in unrealistic timescales.

This can be a false economy of time - hastily made decisions or rushed executions of work often result in things ultimately taking longer. Reviewing decisions - again - or having to redo elements that haven't worked or simply a mistake has been made. Nothing irredeemable - but just takes more time to resolve.

By taking a little more time from the outset and being consistent and measured, even if its slower, can give better results. Focusing on getting it right in the first place.

Sometimes this means having a hard conversation with the client and slowing down their expectations of timescales.

Try to stick to your guns and your timescales. Take the time to get it right. As my nana used to say 'measure twice, cut once.' 😃

💜Double tap if you agree!💜.

The last 12 months must be the year of the pop-up The last 12 months must be the year of the pop-up office! Dining tables have become shared spaces, while nooks and crannies in homes across the country have been rapidly adapted into home offices.

Designers working from home, have all of a sudden, had to share their space with a partner now WFH, as well as kiddies home-schooling.

( Who is feeling the pain on that one? My hubby shared my office with me for just 1 week before we realised that that was just not going to work. We had to do some quick juggling of space and furniture in another room for him, and get him set up there on that first weekend of lockdown.

aaaah... happy marriage once again. 😍 )

However, coming back to our home offices, these spaces must be functional but not at the expense of good design. Organised, lacking in clutter, calm (if possible) to encourage productivity, but with flourishes of colour and comfort that improve your well-being.

Aspects of our own personalities can be injected into these spaces: from the design of the chair, to a pop of colour from a cushion, and so many office accessories to choose from. My personal office accessories are plants, plants and more plants - can't get enough!

Unlike the traditional office, home offices give an opportunity to be creative and customise our workspaces, allowing them to be a reflection and extension of ourselves.

⚡What are your top tips for creating a good home working space? Tell me your favourite home office hacks?⚡

📷 via Pinterest, pls feel free to inform me ..... couldn't show you a pic of MY office, you might think me a weird jungle lady... 😂

This brilliant quote from Maya Angelou reminds us This brilliant quote from Maya Angelou reminds us that achieving greatness is a process and a process that takes time.

We have all had days when it feels we are wading through treacle (some of you know EXACTLY what I mean!) – things are going nowhere fast – or perhaps even backwards. (Plenty of those in these lockdown times). And these times can be testing – we feel frustrated and even like giving up.

But if something is worthwhile, then it will take time. Time to get it right. Time to overcome problems. We have to be patient and resilient.

Keep going – stay focused – persevere!

After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day…
